Location of indoor residents

Antecedente

One of the most important problems when caring for the elderly is knowing their location.

Neurodegenerative diseases especially affect memory. This affectation causes disorientation and consequently a serious problem for the affected person and for the staff who have to care for them in the shortest possible time.

In order to maintain a monitoring of these people with specific needs, the following solution was put into practice.

Solution

installed a series of beacons or beacons in the residence, in the areas that were considered, with the aim that any person carrying our beacons (in the form of a bracelet or hanger), could be detected instantly, and inform the cloud about their presence in the room. In this way, the capacity was also controlled and concentrations that posed risks of infection to both residents and visitors were avoided.

Currently working on the integration of data from the different residences to allow the creation of a on-premis AI model that allows improving the level of knowledge of the residents' status.

Two models of devices were used, one for the less mobile residents and another model for residents with a higher degree of independence. Both, based on BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) location, with very low consumption, waterproof and with replaceable batteries. A third model was used for visitors
