Taking care of our heritage

Antecedente

During a summer vacation in a beautiful town, to which I had not returned for many years, I saw that the castle, in which during my youth I had played with my friends, It was abandoned with crumbling walls and cracks in some of them. I felt a deep sorrow, but I did not discuss it with anyone, and when I returned to my city, I forgot about it.

The following summer, when I returned, the feeling increased since the torrential spring rains had taken their toll on that wonderful XNUMXth century building.

One afternoon chatting with friends and neighbors, in the shade of a beautiful old oak tree, I suggested that we all get to work to find a solution that could help preserve that work and together, we found it. We decided to propose the monitoring, with IoT through sensors that could facilitate real time the state of the tower

We raised it with the town hall and today we still enjoy our beautiful castle, which is also an attraction for visitors to the area.

Solution

Several devices were installed to permanently monitor the state of the castle structure, in coordination with the local architect. were implemented alarms and a panel was developed from which the city council could monitor the evolution of the castle.

Based on this, and the collected data, the architect made the decision to make some modifications to the structure that allowed the construction to be saved.

Currently, other buildings in the region have been monitored to improve their maintenance and preserve their state of conservation. And in the historical complexes, devices have been included to monitor temperature and humidity, which allow control the preservation of works of art.
